How a Wi-Fi QR code works
A Wi-Fi QR code stores your network name, password and security type in the standard WIFI:T:WPA;S:name;P:password;; format. Both iPhone (iOS 11+) and Android phones read it with the normal camera app and offer a "Join network" button, so guests never have to type a long password.

Q: Is my Wi-Fi password sent to your server?
A: No. The QR code is drawn in your browser, and the password never leaves your device. You can even disconnect from the internet before typing it.
Q: Which security type should I choose?
A: Almost every modern router uses WPA2 or WPA3, so choose WPA / WPA2 / WPA3. Choose WEP only for very old equipment, and None for open networks.
Q: My phone doesn't react when scanning.
A: Check that the network name matches exactly, including upper/lower case. On older Android phones, open Wi-Fi settings and use the QR scan icon next to "Add network".
