What Video to MP3 does
It takes the soundtrack out of a video and saves it as an audio file. M4A is usually instant: phone and camera videos already store their sound as AAC, which can be copied out unchanged. MP3 is re-encoded for maximum compatibility with players, cars and older devices. WAV is uncompressed and large, which is ideal if you are going to edit the audio.
